In South Carolina lives young Ethan Wate (Alden Ehrenreich) and dreams about this mysterious girl, he doesn't know. He is tired of the religious place were he stays, he loves forbidden books and can't wait to go to college. But when first day of junior year arrives, Ethan's class has a newcomer Lena Duchannes (Alice Englert), that is similar to a girl he dreams about. He is drawn to her while other classmates think she's weird and a witch. So we begin to know more about her, her family (uncle Macon Ravenwood played by Jeremy Irons), their past and the curse.
Supernatural romance with beautiful set, cool visuals, interesting costumes and good acting. Alden and Alice had a lovely chemistry; Jeremy, Viola and Emma were amazing as always. Storyline is good, film's dynamics is a bit slow but not boring, it just flows nicely. I like that movie contains magic but still has a realistic fell to it. Was I blown away by the movie? No, but it's nice, decent fantasy romance. 3/5
