1. WEAR SUNSCREEN
I know you've probably heard it a hundred times and it really is that important. Skin is our biggest organ and it flushes away toxins when we perspire and have three main functions: protection, regulation and sensation. So why is wearing sunscreen important? I guess skin cancer, wrinkling, premature aging and sunburn ring a bell.
Wear sunscreen not only on your vacation but every (sunny) day! Sun is shining also when you're walking through the city, in your car etc. Take care of your biggest organ. It need you. The sooner you'll realise that, the better.
PLUS: don't expose yourself to the sun unnecessary. And no, standing in the shade is not enough (wear sunscreen!).
2. HYDRATE
Drink a lot of water through the whole day, minimum 2 liters a day. You know that hydration is related to skin: more water, better skin. Also important: Don't go anywhere without it! Put bottle of water in your purse, refill it and don't forget to take beverage before hitting a road. Imagine that you're driving in your car and get stuck in traffic jam. Now what? Always have something to drink with you!
Mix it up! You can also add fruits (I recommend citrus fruits like limes), veggies (cucumber) or herbs (mint) into water. So refreshing and yummy!
PLUS: avoid sweet, fizzy drinks and too much caffeine.
3. WEAR LIGHT CLOTHES
Cotton clothes are perfect for hot summer days. This fabolous fabric is a naturally grown and known for its numerous advantages: it allows better air circulation (your skin can breathe), it's light in weight, perfect for those who have sensitive skin and it's available in all colours.
PLUS: wear sunglasses and hat/cap.
