Planet Baab, where brothers Gary (Rob Corddry) and Scorch (Brendan Fraser) Supernova live. Gary is the head of mission control, geek and family guy, married to Kira (Sarah Jessica Parker) and they have a kid called Kip (Jonathan Morgan Heit). Meanwhile Scorch is all about looking good and cool, he's self-centred yet benevolent space pilot who's always getting in trouble. His latest success  gets him with an opportunity to really shine and go to the "Dark planet", a planet where no alien has yet successfully returned from. Will he be the first one to successfully make first contact with the inhabitants or will he just be another lost alien? The mission might have more chance of success if the two brothers, the dream team, would be able to work together and if they were not actually a part in someone's evil plan.

Some animation movies are just so adorable and immediately draw attention, other just fall flat and the same is with this one. I guess the film is most suitable for children, but otherwise it's below average. Reasons why? Linear story, unoriginal plot, clichés, jokes don't work and the characters are not lovable enough. The only thing I really like is that the Earth was finally portrayed as a bad guy and funny supporting characters (a 3-eyed slug-like alien named Thurman and a mouse-like alien Doc). Overall simplicity that just didn't work. 2/5
