Time for Fashion Oscars 2014 or with other words 2014 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday in New York City.
This year’s Costume Institute Gala Benefit is celebrating the opening of the Charles James: Beyond Fashion exhibition is co-chaired by Bradley Cooper, Sarah Jessica Parker, Vogue editor Anna Wintour and others.
It's only fair to start with Sarah Jessica Parker in dramatic custom Oscar de la Renta dress and Fred Leighton jewelry. I'm not a big fan of peplum front meanwhile I love the back.
The 64-year-old editor in chief of Vogue Anna Wintour in Chanel organza dress. Her daughter Bee Shaffer in custom satin pale blue Alexander McQueen with a dramatic tulle skirt. Also at the event Anna's son Charlie Shaffer and his fiancee Elizabeth Cordry.
Models. Karolina Kurkova in floral print dramatic Marchesa dress with geometric patterns and over $1 million worth of Harry Winston diamonds. Toni Garrn in a light blue Topshop gown.
Picture perfect Liu Wen in green Zac Posen strapless ball gown while Jourdan Dunn looked sexy in bright yellow Topshop dress.
Suki Waterhouse wore ruffled Burberry dress with Anita Ko jewelry. Joan Smalls accompanied the event with her dress designer Vera Wang. Joan opted for her strapless silk-tulle gown featuring a sheer skirt accented by a centre-front skirt slit. The biggest statement were her bold purple lips.
Karlie Kloss in Oscar de la Renta gold lamé cloqué gown with lacquered feather embroidery, styled with a string of pearls and leather opera gloves. Then we have fashion designer Donatella Versace in green gown.
Kate Upton wore a Dolce & Gabbana black and sheer tiered gown with black floral headdress to accent her black outfit. Olsen sisters. Mary-Kateis in a vintage Ferre and Ashley in vintage Chanel. Both from Lily et Cie vintage shop in Beverly Hills.
David and Victoria Beckham in black and white. Of course Victoria wore her namesake label with Casadei heels, Jacob & Co. earrings and bracelet. Lily Donaldson opted for beautiful Burberry white double silk wrapped gown with black velvet bow.
Deep V cuts. Georgia May Jagger in black Thierry Mugler dress and Naomi Campbell in a baby-pink Givenchy Couture custom gown. Gisele Bundchen was accompanied by hubby Tom Brady. She wore Balenciaga black silk and velvet guipure “Marble” lace gown with a custom black satin heeled sandals.
Lily Aldridge in silver lame draped strapless Michael Kors gown, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is fierce yet sophisticated warrior in Balmain dress and shoes. Nicole Richie in Donna Karan Atelier custom-dyed Sage backless graphic devore velvet gown with tiny asymmetrical straps that criss-cross around the back. She completed her look with Christian Louboutin shoes, a Zagliani clutch and jewelry by House of Harlow 1960 and Catbird.
Reese Witherspoon, Kate Bosworth and Cara Delevingne were posing with Stella McCartney (you can see their gowns better in next picture), Chrissy Teigen in Ralph Lauren embellished halter gown with grey ruffles and Chanel Iman in backless gown with pleat detail.
Logically all three girls that I mentioned were posing in Stella's creations. Reese in strapless pink gown, Kate in slinky dress and Cara in black and white two-piece look with sexy cut-outs, McCartney pumps, a blue plexi clutch and Cartier jewels.
Newly single Adriana Lima in brown Givenchy with a leather bodice and Day’s jewels, Dree Hemingway in Proenza Schouler long-sleeved dress and colorful trio: Fei Fei Sun (in emerald-green satin gown) and Marina Rust beside their designer Tory Burch.
Jay Z and Beyonce. Queen B wore fabulous Givenchy Couture dress, shoes, and headpiece with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.
