Must see TV series right now

Well hello to you too! ;)

Some of you are missing my movie reviews and I'll try to push them as soon as I can or just I'll just wrote about movies I liked in short. Honestly, there were not so many this year (disappointed :().

I also mentioned tv series are providing so much better material to watch so here are my 5 suggestions you should watch (if you haven't already).

BIG LITTLE LIES (1 season, 7 episodes)
Based on the novel by Liane Moriarty. Interesting and tense storyline with great acting. Cast is top: Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, Alexander Skarsgård and others are amazing. Addictive and thrilling! I hope for more.

THIS IS US (1 season, 18 episodes; 2nd season started in September)
This one is a breath of fresh air in the times we're living in. No superheroes, zombies, killing, etc. Just a really good storytelling, mix of 'popocorn' and real life. It's a series you feel because characters are likeable. Cast is great and I hope they will continue on beautiful work.

THE HANDMAID'S TALE (1 season, 10 episodes)
This one is the most messed up from this list but you can't stop watching it. It's haunting, compelling and terrifying but somehow with a possibility to be real. Elisabeth Moss is crazy good. I'm very interested how this show will continued.

STRANGER THINGS (2nd season was just released, 1st one has 8 episodes and 2nd has 9 episodes)
Watched both seasons recently and they are great (and a bit scary)! The young cast is super good, 80s atmosphere is awesome and it's just a captivating must see.

THE YOUNG POPE (1 season, 10 episodes)
Another series that is a bit insane but soooo good. Jude is extraordinary and other cast as well, music is epic, costumography and scenes are so good. Do I need to start praying for season 2?

I still watch:
- Game of Thrones (after 7th season ended I rewatched all of it and because last season will likely start in 2019 it's safe to say I will probably do it again),
- Vikings (aaaaa! Season 5 starts soon),
- Shades of Blue (2nd season was also very good),
- Sherlock (when will new season be:'(),
- Modern Family,
- Nashville,
- The Grand Tour (season 2 starts December)

Also Hell's Kitchen, American Ninja Warrior and some talk shows like The Graham Norton Show.

STUCK
I'm not sure where I ended watching (not sure when/if I will continue): Quantico and Gotham...

IDEAS
I still need to see Fargo (season 3), The Crown, Genius, The Night Of and Better Call Saul. Do you recommend me something?

Emmy Awards 2017 winners, recap and best dressed

I am one of those people who believes that for a few years now best projects are happening on TV. There are so many great tv shows and interesting characters. Much more than on big screen. Everything is better on TV :) No need to say I was once again excited for Emmys this year.

THE SHOW
The 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards was held on Sunday, September 17, 2017 in Downtown Los Angeles, California. The show was hosted by Stephen Colbert. The show itself was predictably quite political. If you haven't seen it here are some gifs.

Favorite speech: Alec Baldwin with the last few words!

WINNERS here. I was the most happy for Big Little lies and The Handmaid's Tale.

RED CARPET
Sad to say we've seen so many people but nothing really stood out for me. Nicole Kidman looked very good in Calvin Klein by Appointment. Love her crystal-embellished pink satin sandals and red silk gown with a full ankle-length skirt, pleated bodice, and glittering silver tie at the neck. Zoë Kravitz and Shailene Woodley also nice.

I don't usually get too excited for black gowns (they are a bit boring) but this ladies really looked amazing. Emmy Rossum in wore Zac Posen gown with emerald Lorraine Schwartz jewel, pregnant Louise Roe in an ADEAM ensemble, Annie Parisse in sleeveless gown and Michelle Pfeiffer in Oscar de la Renta dress.

A lot of ladies looked solid but mediocre at the same time. I feel this year Emmys were a bit nahh overall.

Variety

If you are a movie fan you probably know Variety channel and if not check it out because you might like it!

For me this is one of the best quality source of entertainment. The thing I love most are panel discussions and Actors on Actors videos. I love how actors talk about their experiences and preparations, all the work that is behind the performances/movies.

Here is a video with Amy Adams and Andrew Garfield chatting on a range of topics, including their portrayals of comic-book icons but I would recommend you to take a look at Variety channel because there is a lot of interesting things to see and hear.

Thank you Variety for the content! Keep on good work!

Golden Globes 2017 recap

Here are my thoughts on Golden globes 2017.

First, host Jimmy Fallon did a good job. Opening monologue was not too long an it was funny.

Unfortunately the show itself was a bit boring. I miss some mix of movies or they could do something more with music, stage or something. I also don't understand why there is no in memoriam? Tribute for Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds was nice but also felt a bit forced.

And how they cut biggest winners (The Crown and La La Land) with music. Not cool!

Best speaches: my favorite was from Emma Stone but Ryan Gosling, Viola Davis and Hugh Laurie were great as well.

Best prestenters: Steve Carrell and Kristen Wiig. And Matt Damon.

Meryl Streep accepted Cecil B. DeMille Award and had a powerful speech. Love her!

Some of interesting/funny moments here.

Coming up: best on red carpet.
