White House Correspondents' Association Dinner 2013 Red Carpet
Fashion on 2013 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner held at the Washington Hilton on Saturday (April 27).
Starting with ladies in purple and blue. Connie Britton in Temperley London and Julia Louis-Dreyfus in Dolce & Gabbana. Too much lace. Claire Danes in the middle is lovely in Prada and another purple on Michelle Dockery in sleek Elie Saab. Sofia Vergara looked beautiful in Herve L. Leroux dress. She spice her look with pink Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
Black and white. Kimberly Guilfoyle, Kate Walsh in Carolina Herrera, Irina Shayk in Dolce&Gabbana and Kerry Washington in Wes Gordon. Kimberly and Irina are wearing black long sleeved dresses. I like see through sleeves on Kimblerly better than lacey ones on Irina. In battle od black and white dresses between Kate and Kerry I pick Kerry.
Shiny dresses. Amy Poehler in white Basler, Chrissy Teigen, Anna Wintour and another one shoulder dress on Gabrielle Douglas.
Interesting cuts on Beth Behrs and Natalie Dormer in Marios Schwab. I wasn't impressed by Arianna Huffington in leather lace dress and Olivia Munn in Marchesa.
Nicole Kidman in Emilio Pucci looks great. This lavender shade is perfect! Hayden Panettiere in yellow Katharine Kidd and Elizabeth Banks in peach Roland Mouret.
Gayle King and Kirby Bumpus choose V cuts, Sophia Bush in Lela Rose. I would love if the dress was long in front part. Kate Mara is beautiful in Prada and one of the worst, Carol Alt on right.
Pink Juju Chen and orange Alicia Quarles. Than we have best of the reds and one of my favorite dresses from this evening, Emily Mortimer in Oscar de la Renta. Meanwhile Constance Zimmer and Alexandra Wentworth picks were simply awful.
Green. Marisa Tomei is wearing a Wes Gordon, Katy Perry in Giambattista Valli Couture and in my favorite shade, Megan Hilty, wearing Badgley Mischka.
Rebel Wilson in Theia, Jessica Pare in Antonio Berardi, Robin Wright in Rolando Santana Atelier and Olivia Wilde in brown Valentino. I honestly think brown color is just not for gowns.
The worst for me were: Patricia Arquette, Julie Bowen in Monique Lhuillier, Morena Baccarin and Sharon Stone. Words are not necessary.
Best dressed for me were: Emily Mortimer, Kate Mara and Sofia Vergara. Who would you pick?

International Dance Day 2013
Today is International Dance Day!
The goal of the International Dance Day is to celebrate dance, to revel in the universality of this art form, to cross all political, cultural and ethnic barriers and bring people together through the common language of Dance.
Through the years, one of the most popular shows to watch are correlated with dance: Dancing with the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance and America's Best Dance Crew. I liked last one mentioned and one of my favorite groups were Poreotics. Cool funny choreographies. You can see there moves below. Enjoy!
And don't forget to dance a bit today ;)

Happy Birthday - Jessica Alba (32)
Happy 32th Birthday to beautiful actress, mom and entrepreneur, Jessica Alba!
We saw her in movies like: Honey (2003), Sin City (2005), Into the Blue (2005), Fantastic Four (2005), Good Luck Chuck (2007), The Eye (2008), Valentine's Day (2010), Machete (2010) and Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D (2011).
She borrowed her voice for this years animation movie Escape from Planet Earth, but we'll also see her in sequel of Machete Kills and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
In addition, Jessica has filled the hottest actresses list since she was ranked #1 on Maxim's Hot 100 babe list in 2001. And her body after two births still looks hot!
Some more interesting info. about Jess:
- was born in Pomona, California (her parents were only 20 when she was born)

- her nude scene in Machete (2010) was fake; she actually wore underwear that were later digitally removed
- furthermore Jess stated that she would never do a nude scene and in fact has a "no nudity" clause as a standard part of all of her contracts, she said: ''I don't do nudity. I just don't. Maybe that makes me a bad actress. Maybe I won't get hired in some things. But I have too much anxiety.''
- had a body double for her sex scenes in The Sleeping Dictionary (2003)
- met her future hubby Cash Warren, while filming Fantastic Four in 2004, they married in private ceremony in 2008 and have two daughters: Honor (she'll be 5 years old in June) and Haven (she'll be 2 years old in August)
- founded The Honest Company, where you can find natural and eco-friendly family products
"When I became a mom, I finally became the person I am, that I always should have been," she says. "It's the most satisfying job in the world. But, it can also be overwhelming and confusing. I created The Honest Company to help moms and to give all children a better, safer start."

Spring mint manicure
Gosh, I miss those old bottle packaging from Essence! And some old shades as well...
Last year I was addicted to color You belong to me and I still love it. Minty green, perfect for spring <3
To get even more spring feeling, I added white hearts and butterfly stickers.

American Idol (season 12) - top 4 predictions
American Idol season 12 is getting closer and closer to the end. There are only 4 girls left and here are my opinions about this season, judges, contestants and final predictions.
Before season 12, Idol has been facing a lot of changes. After one year of judging, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler decided to end cooperation with the show but Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest stayed.
So, current season's judging panel consists of music manager Randy Jackson and singers: Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban. It's always bittersweet with those things. You like old 'gang' and know what to expect but on the other hand, it's fun to see and learn about new faces. Mariah and Nicki received most attention because of their disagreements but media forgot to mention how super awesome guy Keith is! You can see how passionate he is about music and how he's always grooving, smiling and moving. And he's so respectful and polite. Love him!
Another positive surprise. Nicki's comments. We know Nicki is got her own unique style and everything so many of us were a bit sceptical about her, but she does an amazing job! Her comments are on point, critical yet compassion and not too brutal. Meanwhile Mariah is always 'oh darlin' (with a fake fabulous british accent)... it got to the point where I was so annoyed by her that I stopped listening to her comments.
Moving on to contestants. Top twenty still coexist with half girls and half guys. I think that's just silly and Idol should change that. I know they want to have mixed company but on that note, someone better (girl or guy) is deprived of the opportunity.
It was clear from beginning that this year belongs to the girls! Since last girl (Jordin Sparks) won was 6 years ago so it's about time for some women power! And we've got, not only one but four amazing singers already! I think this top 4 is the best we've ever seen! I honestly have no idea which of those girls is going to win!
Top 3 should be known by now but because judges didn't used save vote, all 4 girls are still here. Next week two girls are going home and final two'll be revealed!
First we have 23 years old Candice Glover. Amazing open vocal. She can sing anything! I was quite surprised that she was in a bottom two this week but I'm sure she'll give it her all next week to redeem herself.
Candice performing Love Song: click.
18 years old Angie Miller. I love her most because you know I'm a rock soul like her. Another amazing voice and I have no doubt in my mint that she'll rock on even when the show is done! Love her, I think she's got a lot to offer and she's artist already.
Angie performing her own song You set me free: click.
Kree Harrison. 22 years old girl from Texas who can sing country, pop, soul. Her presence is so beautiful and effortless. I think she's top as well, people conect with her and she's got a good chance to be in a final.
Kree performing What The World Needs Now Is Love: click.
And 18 years old Amber Holcomb. She's grown the most through the show yet she's been in a bottom two a few times. I think she was the underdog throughout whole competition but fought her way back and I'm happy that she's still in the game. Last two weeks Amber looked confident and attacked big songs yet I've got a feeling that she's the next girl leaving Idol, because her votes are just not as high as they should be.
Amber performing Power Of Love: click.
My fingers are crossed for Angie and I think she's got a good chance to win it! Which of these girls do YOU think is going to win? Amber, Candice, Kree or Angie?

Movie review - The Host (2013)
The Host (2013) / sci-fi, thriller, romance
Directed and Screenplay by Andrew Niccol
Based on The Host by Stephenie Meyer
Starring: Saoirse Ronan, Diane Kruger, Jake Abel, Max Irons, Chandler Canterbury, Frances Fisher, William Hurt
Trailer: click.
Another film adaptation from world wide known novelist Stephenie Meyer. In the future, the human race has been assimilated by benevolent extraterrestrial psychic parasites called "Souls". Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan), a human, is captured by the Seeker (Diane Kruger) and infused with a soul called "Wanderer", in order to discover the location of one of the last pockets of non-assimilated humans. However, Melanie survives the procedure and begins to struggle for control of her body.
Actors did a great job (Saoirse was awesome as always) and even though movie is not packed with cool sci-fi gadgets and action it's still watchable. Some parts of the film are so cheesy (but ok, I've seen worst) and some dialogue are simplly bad. But my biggest problem with the movie was that a lot of times is bland and scenes were not delved deep enough into. And final result for most viewers I suppose it's or will be disappointing, because movie lacks dynamic, depth and more powerful plot. I don't think movie is good, but for sure it's not terrible. 3/5

Last week's favorite looks (April 15 - 21)
Last week's favorite looks (April 15 - 21). My picks are...
Starting with black dresses.
Alice Eve in a fit Reem Acra pocket dress and Gio Diev heels at the Some Velvet Morning world premiere during the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. I love lace sleeves, pocket and shoes.
Olivia Wilde also at 2013 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. She was at the For the Love of Cinema event, wearing A.L.C dress and Tabitha Simmons shoes. I'm not a big fan of the heels she picked but the dress is gorgeous.
Ashley Benson in little black dress with white belt at 2013 GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles.
Sandra Bullock also in black and white, wearing Roland Mouret outfit while attending to promote her film The Heat at the Twentieth Century Fox presentation in Las Vegas.
Ellen Pompeo in a Ferragamo and Roger Vivier shoes. She was at the “Yesssss!” 2013 MOCA gala celebrating the opening of the Exhibition Urs Fischer in Los Angeles.
Julianne Moore and Chloe Moretz both looked spring lovely at photo call for their new movie Carrie during the 2013 Summer of Sony in Mexico. Julianne is wearing white Dolce&Gabbana dress with black Tabitha Simmons shoes. Meanwhile Chloe is in a Marni dress and Christian Louboutin heels.
Sofia Vergara looks beautiful in a turquoise dress while visiting Good Morning America studios.
Then we have two street chic leather outfits from model Karolina Kurkova and Heidi Klum on the right side, wearing the Elizabeth and James Dexter blazer and Dixie trousers.
And the most comfortable outfits from last week. Emma Stone in Joe Fresh top while taking a walk with boyfriend Andrew Garfield. Similar look we saw on Ashley Benson. Ripped pants and cool woolen cap. Like it.
Alessandra Ambrosio and Eva Longoria in simple yet fesh look because of white combination (with flip flops and sun glasses).

World Book and Copyright Day 2013
Today is World Book and Copyright Day!
UNESCO's General Conference chose this date to pay tribute to books, the authors who wrote them, and the copyright laws that protect them. Why 23th? Because big names were born or passed away on this day: William Shakespeare, Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, Vladimir Nabokov, Josep Pla, to name just a few
Purpose of the day is to pay a worldwide tribute to books, authors and to encourage people to discover the pleasure of reading.
I love to write (not only blog but for myself) and I love books. Especially old ones that have special smell and history behind its pages.
