If you read my cluless post a while back you already know that a tv show Switched at Birth inspired me to learn basic sign language so there is no surprise I'm thrilled about this idea.
This is Canada’s first restaurant mostly staffed by deaf servers. The whole point at Signs Restaurant
is that customers order food and drink using sign language with assistance from a “cheat book” that illustrates how to sign menu items.
The restaurant is the brainchild of Anjan Manikumar who through his previous work experience noticed that regular guests, who are deaf, couldn’t communicate with staff. This led to the development of Signs, described as a restaurant where “noise meets silence”.
Love the idea and wish that deaf people would have more opportunities like this!
