Oscars 2016 Recap
The 88th Academy Awards ceremony is behind us. It was a good show. Here are some things I (dis)like about the show and nice/cool/funny moments...
- The show started with movie clips and it could be better or at least longer. We're celebrating movies aren't we?
- Chris Rock hosted the show for the second time and he was very direct when it came to diversity. I will say it bothered me that it was like there is no other race than black and white. And I don't understand why white actors can speak there mind about it. I mean some they already did but it backfired... Back to Chris. His speech was also like we're watching stand up :)

- Skits were quite funny but I didn't undestand moment where Stacey Dash’s brief self-deprecating cameo as “director of our new minority outreach program”? Awkward...
via GIPHY
- Music performances. Lady Gaga had a powerful performance without a doubt.
- Most fun presenters: Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe present Best Adapted Screenplay. They made me laugh.

- I was so impressed by the stage this year and how extraordinary beautiful everything looked. Perfection. Really nice job!
- Oscar's Orchestra: they played really cool songs but there were still interruptions. I think thank-you scroll did help but I still prefer spontaneous, from the heart speeches.
- Best acceptance speeches: Leonardo DiCaprio, Alicia Vikander, Mark Rylance. I think the whole world is happy for Leo!

And the bear also approves ;)

- I was really happy that they included Star Wars droids BB-8, R2D2 and C3-PO
... and also Minions
via GIPHY
- The whole sells for Girl Scout cookies was a bit off for me. It felt too forced.
- Co-stars Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay are cool! High 5!
via GIPHY
- In Memoriam part was beautiful...
He might not have got a mention, but we lost also Uggie (dog from movie The Artist)...
- George Miller and Mad Max: Fury Road were having a lovely day and they stay true to themslves which was nice thing to see!

2016 Oscar Predictions: Who will probably win and who should?
Excited for tonight 88th Academy Awards?
I'm happy to say I've seen all main movies so here are my predictions, toughts and wishes...
Best Picture
The Big Short
Bridge Of Spies
Brooklyn
Mad Max: Fury Road
The Martian
The Revenant
Room
Spotlight
Who will probably win? I think it is between The Revenant and Mad Max: Fury Road. Maybe (not likely but maybe) even Spotlight can surprise? Anyone else would be a surprise.
Who should win? Honestly last year no movie was that impressive when I think of the 'whole package'. I personally loved Brooklyn and Bridge Of Spies. The Revenant was amazing on some levels but script was kind of misssing and it's important to me.
WTF? Where is Trumbo? It was crazy good in every way! Totally overlooked!
Best Actor
Bryan Cranston, Trumbo
Matt Damon, The Martian
Leonardo DiCaprio, The Revenant
Micheal Fassbender, Jobs
Eddie Redmayne, The Danish Girl
Who will probably win? Leonardo DiCaprio
Who should win? Without a doubt Leo (fingers crossed)! It's time The Academy stops ignoring him.
WTF? Matt and Michaeal were good but for me not outstanding. Where are Idris Elba (Beasts of No Nation), Johnny Depp (Black Mass), Will Smith (Concussion) and especially Jacob Tremblay (Room)?
Best Actress
Cate Blanchett, Carol
Brie Larson, Room
Jennifer Lawrence, Joy
Charlotte Rampling, 45 Years
Sioarse Ronan, Brooklyn
Who will probably win? Brie Larson
Who should win? Sioarse Ronan for me was breathtaking but Brie had more powerful role and will win. Don't get me wrong, she was great and I'm happy.
WTF? I can't and will never understand why Alicia Vikander is not nominated for lead role?! Charlotte was also amazing. This time Cate and Jennifer were not that convincing. I would nominate Helen Mirren for Woman in Gold and Lily Tomlin for Grandma.
Directing
The Big Short, Adam McKay
Mad Max: Fury Road, George Miller
The Revenant, Alejandro González Iñárritu
Room, Lenny Abrahamson
Spotlight, Tom McCarthy
Who will probably win? Alejandro González Iñárritu or George Miller
Who should win? Alejandro González Iñárritu
WTF? Where are Ridley Scott (The Martian) and Steven Spielberg (Bridge of Spies)? Doesn't make any sense...
Best Supporting Actor
Christian Bale, The Big Short
Tom Hardy, The Revenant
Mark Ruffalo, Spotlight
Mark Rylance, Bridge of Spies
Sylvester Stallone, Creed
Who will probably win? Sylvester Stallone or maybe even Tom Hardy.
Who should win? Mark Rylance was by faaaar my favorite!
WTF? Except Mark Rylance for me this year's supporting performances were good but not 'waw'. I would love to see Jason Mitchell for Straight Outta Compton and Benicio Del Toro for Sicario here.
Best Supporting Actress
Jennifer Jason Leigh, The Hateful Eight
Rooney Mara, Carol
Rachel McAdams, Spotlight
Alicia Vikander, The Danish Girl
Kate Winslet, Jobs
Who will probably win? Alicia Vikander or Kate Winslet.
Who should win? Like I said, Alicia was a lead for me and she was amazing. I think she should win more than Kate.
WTF? Is it just me or Rooney Mara was not that impressive? I would replace her with Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road.
Animated Feature Film
Anomalisa
Boy And The World
Inside Out
Shaun The Sheep Movie
When Marnie Was There
Who will probably win? Inside Out
Who should win? Inside Out didn't convince me emotionally but it had very creative concept.
WTF? Commercial or not, Minions shoud be here!
Adapted Screenplay
The Big Short
Brooklyn
Carol
Martian
Room
Who will probably win? The Big Short
Who should win? The Big Short
WTF? Where is Aaron Sorkin for Steve Jobs?
Original Screenplay
Bridge Of Spies
Ex Machina
Inside Out

Straight Outta Compton

Who cares about Oscars?
Who really cares about Academy Awards right? Everybody. Nobody. Are they such a big deal? No. Yes.
We watch them because they are the highest movie award. For who? For most people in the business? For mainstream? For media? For...
This year finally the diversity conversation was raised. I feel sorry for nominees because it would be nice to focus on movies but topic of diversity is more important. The lack of diversity among nominees didn't surprise me. It just shows the state of mind in Hollywood. It makes me sad and angry at the same time when I watch US films. It's all about white and usually male actors (thing are changing but slowly). Because no other races exsist. I find it most funny in movies where white people go somewhere in Asia or Afica but they mostly meet people who are also white. What a coincidence? I just don't get it really. And not only black actors. We have Latino actors, Asian actors, etc. Their representation of Hollywood is clear. Of course it is racis. What, no one is not good enough? Come on. Let's vote for white actors but we can still get the black host right?
On the other hand things now can go in a different direction. I don't want e.g. that black actor gets a nomination just so that they are represented even though there were better performances by white actor. And I don't wish that other races get some nomination just so Hollywood doesn't feel bad, if the things in films stay the same. If that will be the case, we've done nothing.
And than you return to beginning. (S)he has an Oscar. So what? It is just an award, an object. If you have fans, people who love your movies and respect your work, your artistry - that is in my opinion the highest award you can get. I don't know one person who would in conversation say something like: ''Yes, (s)he is an amazing actor/actress but she never won an Oscar.'' Because in the end of the day you love the movies, the people and they are legends and amazing if they have some award or not. Is James Dean an icon? Yes. Did he win an Oscar? No. And so many other stunning actresses/actors haven't won Oscar but they don't need to just because. We know they are awesome. Johnny Depp, Sigourney Weaver, Glenn Close, Tom Cruise, Edward Norton, Gary Oldman, Amy Adams, etc.
And I don't want to soud rude but some Oscar winners got lucky that season with one movie and that was pretty much all because we don't see them much.
I guess me and many other people got upset because at the end of the day we care for Oscars. They in fact represent the industry that we still love and it's about time to see more diversity.
Coming up next... My predictions and hopes for Oscar winners 2016.

2016 EE BAFTAs Awards Recap + Red carpet
I guess you've already seen 2016 EE British Academy Film Awards WINNERS so now it's time for my recap and red carpet looks.
RECAP
I will keep it short so here my comments about the show:
- Host Stephen Fry did a nice job
- kiss cam was quite cute (Leo+Maggie)
- in movie clip that I love, I would also like to see scenes from little good movies
- best winning speech: Kate WInslet and Leonardo DiCaprio
RED CARPET
Not many outstanding outfits. And it was hard to watch how cold ladies were. Brrrrr. My fav looks were Kate Winslet and Olga Kurylenko.
Natural beauty Saoirse Ronan wore a strapless Burberry gown covered with pink and gold glimmering flowers. She styled the dress with Chopard necklace and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes.
Cate Blanchett in an Alexander McQueen gown, Tiffany & Co jewelry and Guiseppe Zanotti shoes. There is not a lot of ladies that can pull off that many feathers. Cate can!
Alicia Vikander in a leather glitzy Louis Vuitton look. Solid! And I love her natural make up!
Kate Winslet was my favorite! I love her in an Antonio Berardi gown with a Jimmy Choo bag and shoes and David Morris jewelry. And the red lips and the hair. Top!
Rooney Mara was one of my least favorite in Givenchy.
Dakota Johnson in a Dior scarlet gown, showing off a hint of cleavage, Jimmy Choo shoes and clutch, and Repossi jewelry. I know she know that we've all seen her boobs so there is no need for such a cleavage on this occasion.
Gwendoline Christie wore a structured sleeveless dress.
One of my favorite was Olga Kurylenko in a sheer dress by Ralph & Russo with a white lace pattern. Just beautiful!
Dree Hemingway in a red Erdem dress and Jimmy Choo bag.
English fashion and beauty vlogger, blogger, make-up artis Tanya Burr opted for sleeveless black and white look.
Isla Fisher wore a white Stella McCartney dress. Julie Walters in a sparkling blue dress and black coat, Maggie Smith in a burgundy dress with a matching silk jacket. Eddie Redmayne with a pregnant wife Hannah who also opted for color red.
Emilia Clarke in a Victoria Beckham dress, Jimmy Choo shoes and bag, and Tiffany & Co. jewelry. The dress looked wrinkled. Me not liking it. Than we have shimmering Gemma Chan, and Heida Reed in a sexy plunging black dress with a sheer skirt, a delicate necklace on her bare chest. Julianne Moore looked amzing in an Armani custom dress with Chopard jewels.
Lily Donaldson in a sweeping black Saint Laurent gown with a sheer peasant blouse-style top half, Annabelle Wallis in a heavily ruffled Oscar de la Renta gown and Sophia Webster shoes. Laura Whitmore opted for blue and Sonoya Mizuno.
Rebel Wilson in an asymmetric skirt and blazer, Bel Powley in colorful dress, Angela Scanlon in a mid-length dress in black with a lace detail and Hannah Arterton in quite boring dress.
Reunited again: we love this award season right? And one of the reasons is that we see Kate and Leo together. And most of the times - they both win. Fingers crossed for Oscars!
How did you like the show? Any outfits you've liked?

Screen Actors Guild Awards 2016 Recap + Red carpet
You already know the winners of Screen Actors Guild Awards 2016 so here are just a few of my comments of the show and some of the best red carpet looks.
The show
It was ok and there it's not much to say about it. I liked the 'in memoriam' part and clip before Carol Burnett got Life Achievement Award. And there was no annoying music that interrupts the speeches which was nice...
Red carpet! This time it would be easier to find least favorite red carpet looks but some were good! My favorite were...
Laura Prepon wore a Carmen Marc Valvo Couture dress, Olgana Paris heels, a Hunting Season clutch, Forevermark Diamonds choker and bracelets, a Dena Kemp ring and Stephen Webster earrings. It's a quite simple look but I like it.
Rachel McAdams looked amazing in black Elie Saab dress, Brian Atwood shoes, a Jimmy Choo clutch, Harry Kotlar diamond earrings and rings, and a Le Vian diamond ring.
Marisa Tomei in a Zuhair Murad gown, Beladora jewelry, a Sethi Couture ring with a bag and shoes by Christian Louboutin. It's a safe look but ok.
Sophie Turner I think was my favorite in a Carolina Herrera gown with a Jimmy Choo clutch and shoes. Just lovely!
Saoirse Ronan in a Michael Kors Collection dress, Forevermark Diamonds jewelry and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes. I love her hair and make up with this dress even more.
Naomi Watts wore a blue Burberry dress, Jimmy Choo shoes, a Judith Leiber bag and Bulgari jewels. Like!
Lily Rabe also looked good in a Lela Rose dress, Stuart Weitzman shoes, a Lee Savage clutch, and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
I decided I will also post what winners wore despite I didn't like their dresses. Alicia Vikander shimmered in a Louis Vuitton gown. Brie Larson opted for an Atelier Versace dress, a Roger Vivier clutch and shoes, and Tiffany & Co earrings and bracelet. Uzo Aduba wore a green Zac Posen dress, Sergio Rossi shoes, Marina B and Kwiat jewelry, and a Khirma bag.
Viola Davis wore a lavender Zac Posen dress and Buccellati jewelry. Queen Latifah looks better and better. She opted for a Michael Costello dress, Bavna earrings, and a Rauwolf bag.
