RIP Chester Bennington

Woke up this morning and heard the sad news. Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington was found dead. To be honest I'm so sad and teary. I'm barely holding it together.

As you probably know Linkin Park music has been (and still is) such an important part of my life. They made my life a lot better in my depressed teen years to say at least. There are two bands I've been 'with them' since beginning and connection to them is even more strong. Linkin Park is one of those bands. We all knew Chester had issues but it looked like he was doing fine and I was not ready for that. Well, no one is...

Even my blog is named after their song and on Sunday it will be 8 years since I've seen them live in Graz, Austria. It's hard to put emotions in words right now.

I hope you found your peace Chester. You'll be missed! Condolence to his family and friends.

Ed Sheeran album Divide

Yey, it's Friday and yey, new Ed Sheeran's album Divide is out now!

After first listening I already like some songs: romantic ones like Perfect, Hearts Don't Break Around Here and more jolly ones like Nancy Mulligan and Galway Girl. When I heard Save Myself I couldn't help myself and teared up.

This one What Do I Know is really cool too.

Thank you for new music and amazing lyrics Ed! I love the stories, his voice... just wow. And this graphics is great too.

My Playlist

Hi guys.

I don't write about it often but music continues to be a big part of my life. Many people turn on tv when they come home from work but I enjoy listening to music more. I know myself good enough to say that no matter what I will always love some things like: movies, music and nature. 

December was a bit different when it comes to what I mostly listened because of the holidays and X-Mas jingles. In our place we like to listen to Celtic christmas music but I still most enjoy listen to my fav bands Snow Patrol, U2, Oasis, Queen, Linkin Park and slovenian band Siddharta. Can't help it, I love them. Sometimes more, sometimes less but always.

Then I like Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds's album Chasing Yesterday very much, Kings of Leon's WALLS (my fav songs are Waste a Moment, Over and WALLS) and Adele's 25.

Ed Sheeran is another reason for happiness. I love both of his new songs Shape Of You and Castle on the Hill. His new album is out on March the 3rd. Can't wait!

Then I like some songs like Carrie Underwood's Dirty Laundrey, Keith Urban's Wasted time, etc. I love it how for at least 3 minutes you can drift away with your thoughts because you are totally in the moment of music. Aaaaa! <3

And watching music documentary Oasis Supersonic made me nostalgic. Despite I saw them only on tour Don't Believe the Truth in Treviso (2005), I'm happy I did. Last year I only went to 3 concert but nothing big. I want to change that this year and go to some big gig again. I already have something in mind so fingers crossed!

Adele - Album 25

Hello, it's me :)

I'm so happy and have been waiting for some new good music for some time... and it's finally here! Adele's new album called 25 it's just A-MAZING!

Hello it's a first single and I don't mind if it plays everywhere. I love it! Her BBC special was great as well. She also sang Skyfall which is my favorite Bond song ever!

Back to her new album. At the moment my favorite song from album is Remedy but I also like When we were young, Send my love (to your new lover) and Water under the bridge very very much! Honestly for any of other songs on album, I can't say I don't like them. The are all good!

Gosh I love her voice, the richness of it, the lyrics and the soul that is in those songs. And I think it's brave and cool that she sings different song when she appears on tv shows and interviews. Aaaaa! I just can't stop raving about her. Hope to see her in the concert next year!

Wildest Dreams

Taylor Swift still rocks in my book! She really have a great collaboration with amazing people who make this beautiful videos together. Her new Wildes Dreams video is just beautiful and so gorgeous to watch. And you already know that the song is one of my fav from the album 1989.

But! I will confess that I wasn't that thrilled about music video for Bad Blood ft. Kendrick Lamar. It had amazing promotion and warm up and all this celebrity girls but something didn't click for me. Or it was just too much of them... I felt like she wanted to show who and how many there are in the video instead of make more story to it. On the other hand, once again: the scenes, visuals, make up and the hair - perfect!

And have you seen Taylor perform Smelly Cat with Lisa Kudrow? How cool was that! :)

Taylor Swift - 1989 (Deluxe) Album review

Since I'm loving new Taylor Swift album 1989 I decided to share my favorite songs, lyrics and opinions with you guys.

First of all I really like this album. Did I say like? I meant love! Taylor has been playing around with pop rhythms in the past but the sound of this album is so different. I love it! Kudos to Jack! I will honestly say I was a bit afraid lyrics will not be as good as in the past but oh boy, was I worng. She's more mature but still can play with the words. Yey!

In foreword Taylor says one thing really really nice:
''I hope you know that who you are is who you choose to be. And that whispers behind your back don't define you. You are the only one who gets to decide what you will be remembered for.''

WELCOME TO NEW YORK
A new New York anthem it's born! What a catchy song!

BLANK SPACE
Loved it the moment I heard it. The whole lyrics is so clever that I can't pick my favorite line! And the beat behind is so cool and the little things like pauses before she sings ''And I'll write your name.'' Amazing! And have you seen this video? Crazy gorgeous!

STYLE
Another great song that tells a story. I would say I enjoy the chorus most, especially back vocals and when they repeate the words ''and tight little skirt''. It just creates a sexy feel to the song. This song will not go out of style I'm telling you.


OUT OF THE WOODS
At first I didn't like the intro at all but I get use to it and I think it's a simple catchy song.

Two paper airplanes flying, flying, flying''

ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS STAY
Not a big fan of the song. Those 'stay' from the back are kind of annoying for me. The song I definitely skip most.


SHAKE IT OFF
Love the vibe and the message. So damn relatable for everyone! Perfect first sngle from the album for sure! Video: here.

I WISH YOU WOULD
Similar to All you had to do was stay not playing on repeat but it has a nice music.


BAD BLOOD
Huge like! Great beat and of course the lyrics. My fav part must be
''time can heal, but this won't
So if you're coming my way,
just don't.''

Just don't, sounds so amazing and real to me. Painful with touch of offendeness I would say. Love it!


WILDEST DREAMS
The beat of this song haunts & freaks me out sometimes in a best possible way. It makes the mood of the song amazing and it's one of my favorites. The lyrics is great as well.

''I thought heaven can't help me now
Nothing lasts forever
But this is gonna take me down
He's so tall, and handsome as hell
He's so bad but he does it so well''

''And his voice is a familiar sound, nothing lasts forever
But this is getting good now''

What makes the lyrics so good is the way Taylor delivers it. The emphasis on words are perfect and she sounds honest. You feel it and therefore you connect and you love it!

HOW YOU GET THE GIRL
This song it's a bit better than All you had to do was stay and I wish you would but I would still put it in a 'not my cup of tea' category. Sound is good and it has a drive but I guess it's too poppy for me?


THIS LOVE
Beside Clean this is a beautiful slow song.

''This love left a permanent mark
This love is glowing in the dark
These hands had to let it go free
And this love came back to me''


I KNOW PLACES
Crazy good! The lyrics can be a metaphor for many things and the melody, back vocals, the way Taylor sounds and the whole thing just fit together perfectly! Uf! One of the best Taylor's songs!

CLEAN
Healing song for sure.


I'm so happy for the deluxe edition! It has 3 extra songs + 3 voice memos (+ 13 Polaroids). I'm glad Taylor decided to share this three songs because two of them are great in my opinion!

WONDERLAND
It didn't stood out for me when I heard it for the first time but now I'm kind of obsessed! Love the Alice in Wonderland metaphors and the music! That drive and the beat! Perfect madness!

Because of that ahhh Taylor makes at the end of the word ace, this line is so freakin' amazing!

Plus some others that I adore:
''We show off our different scarlet letters- Trust me, mine is better.''

Buy honey most of them are true...''

Voice memos are also nice to hear!

Yesterday (Sunday 12th) the 71st Golden Globe Awards were honoring the best in film and American television of 2013. Golden Globes were hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler for the second time in a row. More about my impressions and red carpet later on. Happy 28th Birthday to singer-songwriter Bruno Mars!

You may not know that he's full name is Peter Gene Hernandez, he was Raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and has earned numerous awards including a Grammy Award, an American Music Award, a Billboard Music Award and a BRIT Award.

While my favorite song by him is Locked Out of Heaven, it's safe to say that the song Just The Way You Are is probability a song that no girl would mind if it would be written for her...

 

He is one of a few contemporary artist that I'm really fond of and like his music despite the fact that he's everywhere. Happy Birthday Bruno!

Happy Birthday - Sting (62)

Happy 62nd Birthday to the great musician Sting!

Sting or Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner was born in England and is best known as a solo musician and a member of the rock band The Police. Up to know he has received 16 Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards, an Emmy Award and several Oscar nominations for Best Original Song.

Less than two weeks back his eleventh studio album came out and it is called The Last Ship. For several years he's been working on a musical with the same name (album is inspired by this forthcoming play) which will debut on Broadway in 2014. More about the project in video below, plus his latest performance of a new song What Have We Got on David Letterman Show here.

I love his voice and storytelling through songs. Definitely one of the artist I hope to hear and see in the future!

My fav songs at the moment are Stolen Car and Send Your Love while I still need to find time to listen his new album.

Goodbye Jimi Hendrix

On this day in 1970 the world lost one of the most influential electric guitarists of the 20th century, Jimi Hendrix. Despite the a very short mainstream exposure he still inspires today, with Hey Joe as an anthem of every »serious« guitarist out there.

Musically he was inspired by rock and roll and electric blues and is known for his overdriven sound, high gain, wah-wah and guitar amplifier feedback. As one of the more creative and experimental musicians of his era his rendition of The Star Spangled Banner still remains controversial, beeing called everything from the most important political rock statement of the 1960s, to an afterthought caught in one of Hendrix's worst performances. I leave the decision to you :)

His unique style and performance inspired many of the greats we know today: Slash, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eddie Van Halen, John Frusciante, Lenny Kravitz, etc. and it's a shame his amp got turned off so soon.

Yeeeeey! I'm so happy that Jennifer Lopez will return to American Idol judging panel!

Jennifer was absent from the panel this past season, but was a judge for the two previous seasons in 2011 and 2012. She will be joined on the panel by fellow judge Keith Urban, who also just signed on to return. He did a really good job last year! I'mso happy and excited.

Another cool thing. Host for 13th season remains Ryan Seacrest!

And who will new judges be? According to Ryan Seacrest we will find out that very very soon! Boy I wish one of them is Adam Lambert! I also wouldn't mind Black Eyed Peas front man will.i.am or Harry Connick  Jr. But we must wait and see...
