Monday inspiration: quotes

Quotes always were a big part of my life. When I was younger I read them and copy them from different books to my quoets notebook, marked the ones that I found most interesting and relatable... And you notice that your thinking chaneges also through quotes. I enjoying reading them so much!

Of course for some time now, I don't search for quotes only in books but on web. I don't have time to look for them everyday but I most definitely read at least a few a day. Some make me think, other inspire me, some just make me laugh... But since I'm reading them for so long sometimes I'm like: ''I read that one like a million times already. Give me something new!'' While some I see regularly but I don't mind. Depends on the quote I guess. I need daily intake of good quotes like vitamin C!

And I have periodes when I'm obessed with this one author (e.g. Mark Twain, Dr. Seuss, etc.) and have so many of his quotes in my quotes folder :) At the moment this is Charles Bukowski. I feel him so much! The critical points regarding this world, our society, the writing... we would get along.

But not all quotes must be serious. A lot of cool ones I find in movies and tv series. Since me and my love are rewatching Friends again, one of my favorite at the moment is this one with Moo point. Funny and has a point! Also practical in everyday life when someone is giving you a hard time! ;)

The good thing about quotes is there are so many! Have some fun and find the ones that lifts you up!

A 2016 must see animation!

First of all. I was surprise how this is like a proper movie and you don't feel it's just made for children! It's thoughtful, smart, funny, fast paced, compelling, modern with great animation and engaging character. I love to see heroines like Judy. She doesn't focus on romance or family loyalty but on her dream. Refreshing! And the voices are awesome (especially Ginniger and Jason). Also nice surprise when it comes themes. They are meaningful and speak about tolerance and prejudice on one hand and trust and love in times of hate and uncertainty on the other. Enjoyable and worth watching! 4/5

💤💤 One of the most disappointing Marvel films...

Am I tired of superhero blockbusters or they are just not as good? I didn't like Captain America: The Winter Soldier at all but we all know this one is more or less Avengers picture so ok. You can say it's more mature and more serious Marvel flick but honestly I didn't like it. Too much unnecessary bla, bla, bla, too many characters and forced appearances, cliches but most disappointing for me were action scenes. And it's way too long for what it brings to the table. Totally forgettable. Sorry (and I don't say that with easy heart) but for me this time Marvel failed. It's just not intriguing or enjoyable movie. 2/5

Monday inspiration: discover new places

If you want to find some inspiration I  suggest you go somewhere new.

It's easy to get in stuck in your daily routine. And even when you have the chance to go somewhere you end up in common places. That's ok if you like this place and it relaxes you but at least every now and then you should go somewhere new, somewhere different and see new locations.

Travelling to new destinations lifts your spirits and your mind opens. It'a exciting to experience new landscapes, city vibes, food, people, etc.

Can't afford the travelling? Well, you don't have to go to another country to find new beuatiful places. You can discover new paths in your neighbourhood, take a trip to a city nearby, etc. Don't limit yourself by thinking you only need to see Hawaii, New York and other big destinations. Just remember that you never have to stop exploring. Inspiration is there waiting for you to come...

Goodbye Castle!

More and more TV series that I like is ending and that sux! American Idol, Person of Interest, Nashville and now even Castle...

I really enjoyed watching this show. It was light and fun but still interesting. Every episode was differnet and creative with cases and the cast was just great. Richard Castle and Katherine "Kate" Beckett were the heart of the show but there were so many cool supporting characters:  Javier "Javi" Esposito and Kevin Ryan, Alexis Castle and Martha Rodgers... It's hard to believe crapy tv shows like Arrow are still going and good ones are getting dropped... But in real I am not surprised. Just sad.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that were involved in this amazing show! It's been fun and much appreciated 8 years! We'll miss you!

Movie review - X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)

X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) / action, adventure, fantasy

I just want to be an awesome mutant! So far my favorite superhero film this year!

I'm a fan so I'm happy to say I'm happy with the film. I wasn't sure what to expect because I was avoiding clips and trailers as much as I could. I love X-Men films and the characters so I'm always anxious because I wish that X-Men movies stay good. And they are! Yeey! What a strong performers from everyone from 'old' team, while my fav newbies were Sophie Turner and Oscar Isaac. Nice job guys! For me this movie remains what it always was, a thinking person's action movie with good storytelling and funny elements (that doesn't feel forced). It's not perfect but overall exciting and in X-Men style. There are two or three scenes where I was like: ''Omg, whaaat?! Awesome!'' Really cool visual stuff! I won't spoil anything but yes, Quicksilver is amazing once again! I was most disappointed when it came to characters like Psylocke and Angel. I wanted to know more about them and their story. Nevertheless, kudos to Bryan Singer for having so many characters in the film and handling them so well (much better than we've seen in Captain America: Civil War). Wonderful! 4/5

Happy Friday the 13th

Today is the only Friday the 13th this year (last year there were three)!

Considered an unlucky day in Western superstition but quite lucky for many people that I know...

Superstitious or not I wish you all a lovely day and end of the week!

One of the biggest surprises of 2016!

What an adventure this film is! First of all. Visual effects are amazing and the performances of the voice cast as well (Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley and Christopher Walken especially). Kudos to Jon Favreau's direction and its faithfulness to both the animated film and original Kipling works! Film is exciting, full-hearted and funny. 4/5

P.S. I couldn't stop singing Bare Necessities and  I Wan'na Be Like You...

Solid rom com!

I don't really understand why this movie is having such a bad reviews? You can't expect this kind of movies to be a masterpiece. It's just a funny, relaxing flick. For me some things in the film were a positive surprise (there is no over the top unnecessary drama) while some were just predictable, cheesy, racist or stereotypical. Than again, I love these women: Jennifer, Kate and Julia! You made me laugh hard a few times. And it's also nice to see nonviolent, no nudity rom com. Enjoyable! 3/5

2016 MET Gala Best dressed

Met Gala 2016 was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 2) in New York City. This year's red carpet theme was Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.

Some ladies really made an effort while others looked just 'red carpet normal'. Here are my favorites plus some solid looks. And don't worry. Here you won't see Beyoncé and Kardashian family. Nothing agains them but they were everywhere already + I didn't find them the best dressed.

My favorite was Rachel McAdams in a shimmering Valentino gown with H Stern jewels. Just amazing. I love this dress, the lišs, the hair cut. Just waw!

I also love Nicole Kidman in a stunning in head-to-toe Alexander McQueen with vintage Fred Leighton jewels. Galactic, elegant and so beautiful.

Claire Danes looked like Cinderella glow-in-the-dark, fiber optic-woven gown by Zac Posen and Eva Fehren jewelry. I can't help it. This glowing in the dark adds something so dreamy. Pretty!

Meanwhile Demi Lovato opted for fierce look, a custom Moschino by Jeremy Scott dress, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, an Edie Parker clutch, and Norman Silverman jewelry. Big like!

There was a lot of white gowns but at first Kate Hudson stood out to me. She wore a beautiful Versace dress.

Emma Stone in a Prada gown and clutch, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, and Christian Louboutin shoes. Juno Temple in shimmering Erdem dress and Alex Morgan in beautiful one long sleeve gown. I would love Emma without the middle belt part, while Juno and Alex are looking very good.

Models in white. First Doutzen Kroes in Balmain dress. Karlie Kloss headed to the event in a custom crepe Brandon Maxwell coat, then rocked a custom gown by the designer along with Giuseppe Zanotti strappy shoes and a Repossi staple earring in pink gold fully set with diamonds. She’s also wearing KWIAT stud earrings. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore a custom ivory Ralph Lauren Collection gown with a Ralph Lauren Collection clutch and sandals, and Ralph Lauren Vintage Collection platinum and diamond wing earrings.

More ladies in white. Mindy Kaling in a Tory Burch strapless dress, Gugu Mbatha-Raw in a Gabriela Hearst Fall 2016 Cora gown in ivory with morse code beading and custom heels in suede blue. Jennifer Hudson in a H&M gown, Paul Andrew shoes, Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Judith Leiber clutch. Danai Gurira opted for a Giambattista Valli dress with Fernando Jorge and Monique Péan jewels.

Black and white trio: Alana Danielle and Este Haim. Emma Watson wore a custom Calvin Klein Collection black taffeta twill off-the-shoulder top and detachable train, ecru cotton bustier with lace cups and black satin trouser with Paige Novick jewelry.

How cute are these two pregnant gals! Emily Blunt wore a custom blue beaded Michael Kors gown, Forevermark diamonds, Michael Kors shoes and Tyler Alexandra clutch. Olivia Wilde in a custom Michael Kors gown, Jennifer Fischer jewels and Brian Atwood shoes. Allison Williams in a Peter Pilotto dress, an Edie Parker clutch, Brian Atwood shoes and Finn jewelry. They all look nice but not themed enough if you ask me.

Kerry Washington kept her hand on her tiny baby bump in a Marc Jacobs dress and gloves, Gianvito Rossi shoes, a Judith Leiber bag, and Fred Leighton earrings. Dakota Fanning in a Nina Ricci gown in grey velvet and embroidered lace, along with a Nina Ricci bag and shoes and Fred Leighton jewelry. Katie Holmes wore a blue gown made by her close friend Zac Posen. Chloe Grace Moretz in Coach custom-made deep V neck metallic and black gown.

Naomie Harris in a Burberry dress and clutch, Christian Louboutin shoes and Messika jewlery. Jessica Chastain in a stunning voluminous Prada gown, Brian Atwood shoes and Piaget jewelry for the annual Costume Institute Gala Benefit. Jessica donned a peacock blue silk gabardine gown with a structured bodice and voluminous skirt enriched with 18th century inspired black crystal embroidery in floral and latticework motifs.I kind of like them both but at the same time feel like it's something missing.

Naomi Watts in a shimmering Burberry gown, shoes and coat, Fred Leighton jewelry and a Rauwolf bag. Poppy Delevingne wore Marchesa dress, Anna Ewers in a BOSS dress and Liu Wen in an Iris van Herpen dress, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and clutch, and Tiffany & Co. jewelry.

Kate Upton revealed that she is engaged to her man, MLB player Justin Verlander so the ring was getting more attention than the dress. Karolina Kurkova wore a gown that was created in a collaboration between Marchesa and IBM Watson, which included 150 hand-placed LED lights. Alessandra Ambrosio opted for Balmain gown, Giuseppe shoes, Fred Leighton rings, Jennifer Fisher earrings and carrying a Judith Leiber purse.

Cindy Crawford also in Balmain gown, Lily Aldridge in a Michael Kors dress and Lara Stone in a Tom Ford gown.

Joan Smalls in a Balmain dress, Naomi Campbell in Cavalli Couture, Jourdan Dunn also in Balmain dress and Taylor Hill in a black gown.

I think this three ladies really put some effort in their outfits. Sofia Sanchez de Betak, Kate Bosworth in head-to-toe Dolce&Gabbana and Zoey Deutch also in Dolce & Gabbana gown.

For the end, two ladies who were very in sync with the theme. Michelle Monaghan in a Rosie Assoulin dress, custom Roxanne Assoulin x La Ligne earrings, an Edie Parker x La Ligne clutch and Brian Atwood shoes. Thalia Mottola in a metallic, robot inspired arm sleeve Tommy Hilfiger gown. A bit too much?

What were your favorites?
