R.I.P. Nelson Mandela (1918 - 2013)
The word has lost another great soul. Yesterday 'The father of the nation’ died following a long illness, aged 95, at his home in Johannesburg.
I don't think South African anti-apartheid revolutionary need a special introduction but I’m sure he’ll always be an inspiration to others. Here are some of his most memorable quotes.

Movie review - The Place Beyond the Pines (2012)

PLOT
Three different stories that are yet connected. First one deals with the family life of outlaw anti-hero Luke (Ryan Gosling), who now wants to take care for Romina (Eva Mendes) and their baby boy whom she has kept a secret from him. The transition from story one into story two introduces young rookie cop Avery Cross (Bradley Cooper) who exposes his police department to be corrupt. The third story begins fifteen years later where Luke's son and Avery's son become friends. Not giving too much away, you'll find out correlations when you see the film.
REVIEW
I have very mixed feelings about this one. Ambition to weave together three stories linked to the same event is interesting but I’m sorry to say it tries too much. The Place Beyond The Pines wants to be a crime thriller with revenge story and corruption story as well as family drama with father and son Greek tragedy. Very big problem is also film's length. The first part is engaging but when focus shifts from first story, it becomes a different movie and starts running out of steam. Another disappointing thing is that films unfolds in a obvious, cliché manners. On the positive side: starts with good pace, intense drama with captivating performances and character development. Film also gives you subjects to think about, like how life is not just about you, how you affect others, etc. Movie is not brilliant but still good and worth watching. 3+/5

Last two week's favorite looks (November 18 - December 01)
Because I don't fancy many of the outfits I decided to combine my favorite looks from last two weeks (November 18 - December 01).
Starting with events.
Miranda Kerr beautiful in light blue cutout David Koma dress with Smythson clutch, Christian Louboutin heels and Shylee Rose jewels. She attendedthe Jaguar F-TYPE Coupe Global Debut in Playa Vista, California.
Victoria Beckham in her own colorblock yellow black and grey tweed dress at her Quincy accessories collection launch in Selfridges in London.
Taylor Swift looked like princess while she attended the Winter Whites Gala in Aid of Centrepoint in London, England. She wore lacy swept Reem Acra off-the-shoulder gown.
Daisy Fuentes was my favorite at 2013 American Music Awards. She wore Tadashi Shoji halter gown that featured a white lace applique bodice with a long black, fit-and-flare skirt.
Street looks. One of my favorite gals, Diane Kruger while arriving at LAX Airport. Than Jessica Biel in a Rails Kendra plaid button down and an AllSaints jacket. Plus always stylish, bundled up Jessica Alba while taking a wet stroll.

After dinner, the families' young daughters, Anna Dover (Erin Gerasimovich) and Joy Birch (Kyla Drew Simmons) go missing. Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) tries to confront an RV driver Alex Jones (Paul Dano) that had been parked in the neighborhood but Alex manage to escape. At least for short term...
REVIEW
Intense mystery thriller that is smartly constructed yet not perfect. But on the other hand you get these outstanding performances by Hugh, Jack and Paul (Melissa and other are great too) so you don't even feel the flaws. Furthermore: haunting atmosphere that unravels slowly, puzzles come together step by step and create overall exciting movie experience. Though, don't expect action scenes but some intensely violent sequences and more realistic and emotional road. One of the best films this year. 4/5

Back!
Hi guys, I'm back!
No vacations for me unfortunately but I had some time to do other stuff I just can't find time for. To be honest I have some really good news but I'll share them with you later this month. I'm back on track with my blog! Don't forget I am preparing special Victoria's Secret week next week so stay tuned ;)
Otherwise this December didn't start as jolly as we would all want it to be. Movie world lost another young soul, Fast and Furious star Paul Walker, who was killed in car crash with former race car driver Roger Rodas. I hate news like this and despite we don't actually know them (celebrities), I feel sorry for him, his friends and family. It's sux! Big time.
Another unrelated matter. Can you believe it's already December!? Where did this year go? Hope you're doing well! If not create yourself the most wonderful time of the year! Don't forget you have power and future in your hands!
