The biggest trend were pale, nude, pastel, powdery frocks and soft colors. We've also seen quite a lot of black, metallic trend and primary colors (green, blue and red). Enough said. Take a look...
Not only she won numerous awards, she's been fashion queen for this whole awards season. And she was gorgeous once again in Prada. Of course we're talking about Lupita Nyong’o! A custom light-blue princess silk gown with a deep V-neck top and low cut sides looked stunning on her. Lupita completed her look with Fred Leighton jewels, Prada platform sandals and a matching clutch.
Two natural brunette beauties. Jessica Biel arrived in a shimmering strapless Chanel Couture gown and Jennifer Garner in silver fringe tiered Oscar de la Renta dress.
Blue Jasmine stars, Cate Blanchett and Sally Hawkins. Cate wore Armani Privé gown with silver beaded detail while Sally opted for beaded Valentino dress. Sarah Paulson in a 3/4 sleeve fully embellished Elie Saab Couture gown.
Kate Hudson looked stylish in a draped silky Atelier Versace gown. Shoulder pads, cape detail, the train, the woven detailing on the waist, the beading and the deep plunge... she definitely put some effort into it. Her mom, Goldie Hawn picked gold satin gown with a draped glittery shoulder detail by Versace.
Maria Menounos keeps on bringing the goods. She opted for dazzling white Johanna Johnson gown which was backless. Lovely! Angelina Jolie in Elie Saab Couture. She looked good but I'm pretty sure I've seen that gown before. And her hair and make-up could been better.
Giuliana Rancic in Paolo Sebastian Couture gown, Jenna Dewan-Tatum in fluffy Reem Acra frock and Julie Delpy in shimmering Jenny Packham gown with deep neckline and cinched waist. This time Giuliana didn't impress me but she's still looked good. Jenna looked beautiful as a whole while I would change something about Julie's messy hairstyle.
Portia de Rossi in Naeem Khan halter gown, Rocsi Diaz in a silver sleeveless sparkling V-cut dress with a thigh-high slit and Cristin Milioti in sleek Reem Acra frock. Portia looked elegant while I had mixed feelings about her dress. On the other hand I don't have problems saying Rocsi and Cristin should picked different dresses. Rocsi looks so small (both V-cut and high slit are too much in this case) while Cristin's dress looks unfitted and texture doesn't help.
Former figure skater Tara Lipinski in strapless embroidered chiffon Rani Zakhem gown, featuring a floral print and a full skirt. A bit too bridal maybe? More strapless frocks. Laura Dern in cream Alberta Ferretti dress and Kristen Bell in Roberto Cavalli gown.
Ladies who opted for blue. Amy Adams in a navy Gucci Première dress and Sandra Bullock in a midnight blue Alexander McQueen gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Amy looked simple and chic. Btw, she change her mind and updo her hair because of the rain. Meanwhile Sandy's sideswept curls are also elegant and classic but I don't like side draping on the dress.
Black with a twist. Anne Hathaway in halterneck Gucci dress with metallic detail and a slit in the back. Emma Watson in shimmering semi-sheer Vera Wang frock. I love her red lips but I was so distracted by her messy hair! Anna Kendrick in J. Mendel dress with asymmetrical lines and the floral detailing. She looked ok but I wasn't blown away.
Charlize Theron in a dramatic Christian Dior Couture gown. She really know how to pose and shows off her dress! Like it a lot! On the other hand I was a bit angry at Julia Roberts in peplum lace Givenchy Couture dress. Way too conservative. Her face looks beautiful and radiant but the dress... Why? Performer Karen O in slinky black satin gown by Camilla Stærk.
Ewan Mcgregor with wife Eve Mavrakis in black Marni spaghetti strap dress. We didn't see her on the red carpet but Sally Field gave a presentation in a Randi Rahm sequined gown. Plus Dolce & Gabbana couple, Christian Bale with Sibi Blazic.
The Wolf of Wall Street sexy blond looked almost unrecognizable with her new hair color. Margot Robbie wore black, slinky, sparkly Saint Laurent strapless gown with bow detail in the back. She accessorized with Forevermark diamonds and dark lipstick. I love her vampy look! Jennifer Lawrence wore...? Of course, you knew it! She opted for Christian Dior Couture again. And once again she looked simple but stylish in strapless red peplum gown with Ferragamo clutch and dazzling $2 million diamond necklace worn backwards (again). And yes, Jen also tripped again as she made her entrance onto the red carpet. So there, nothing new :)
I will finish off with two pregnant ladies. My favorite was Olivia Wilde in black and white Valentino. I love backless details and her accessories: ring, drop earrings and arm bangles from Lorraine Schwartz. Her make up and hair is gorgeous too. Meanwhile Kerry Washington in a silky lavender custom-designed draped Jason Wu dress with a side slit. She accessorized with Jennifer Meyer jewels, embellished platinum pumps, half-down do and oxblood lip.
Stay tuned for part two!
