Overlong. Forgettable. Comedy?
PLOT
The town of Old Stump, Arizona in 1882. Sheep farmer Albert Stark (Seth MacFarlane) is dumped by his girlfriend Louise (Amanda Seyfried) as a result of his withdrawal from a duel. He prepares to leave for San Francisco but he meets Anna (Charlize Theron) and decide to win Louise back. What he doesn't know is that Anna is a runaway wife of an outlaw Clinch Leatherwood (Liam Neeson) who doesn't treat her well while Louise has moved on with Foy (Neil Patrick Harris). Will he get her back?
REVIEW
The film offers a few laughs and there are some amusing cameos. That's all. Seth MacFarlane just can't set up a visual joke properly without resorting to head-butting or something raunchy inappropriate (that you've probably seen before). It's kind of a western parody with non stop toilet humor. Lazy uninspired script, soulless one-dimensional characters, predictable plot (if you can call it that) and overall just a waste of time. Acting was solid except Seth. I didn't think he was believe strong lead and I don't quite understand why would you even care about his character? Overlong forgettable western comedy attempt that fails miserably. 2/5
