Oscars 2018 Red carpet
Oscars should be the best of the best in a long award season also when it comes to red carpet and cherry on top right? Well... I didn't feel that was the case. I was a bit disappointed and when I was thinking about best dresses the list was quite short. So I decided to give space ladies who were nominated and looks that got my attention (in a good way).
Allison Janney was a beauty in red custom Reem Acra gown with a Roger Vivier clutch.
Mary J. Blige wore a white Atelier Versace embellished gown.
Meryl Streep also opted for red. She looked in a long award season in Dior Couture.
Sally Hawkins in a glittering long-sleeved Armani Prive gown with Chopard jewels.
Frances McDormand wore a gold, long-sleeved dress.
Saoirse Ronan in a pink Calvin Klein by Appointment strapless gown with oversized bow and long train. She styled the dress with matching Christian Loubout pumps along with a Jimmy Choo clutch and Cartier jewels.
One of the biggest trends of the evening were white gowns. One of my favorite was Margot Robbie in a custom off-the-shoulder Chanel Couture dress with the embellished lace floral detail. The styling was on-point too: Chanel Fine Jewelry and high-shine clutch.
Lesley Manville wore an Anna Valentine dress, Charlotte Olympia shoes, AS29 earrings, a Harry
Kotlar ring and a Djula ring while carrying a Valextra bag.
Laurie Metcalf opted for a custom long sleeve Christian Siriano gown.
Octavia Spencer wore a custom Brandon Maxwell gown with coordinating emerald jewels. She looked great!
Betty Gabriel, Gal Gadot and Jennifer Garner were my favorites.
Betty Gabriel in a beautiful Tony Ward Couture gown with the whimsical embellishment.
Gal Gadot in a dazzling Givenchy Haute Couture gown with a stunning and dramatic necklace. Her updo and red lip are also perfect.
Jennifer Garner wore a dramatic Atelier Versace gown in a beautiful color with spectacular jewels and hair and make up. Love it!
Laura Dern graced the red carpet in a Calvin Klein by Appointment gown. She looks so graceful!
Nicole Kidman in a royal-blue Armani Privé. Wow! Great dramatic look with lovely styling: Christian Louboutin pumps, Harry Winston diamond earrings, sleek locks and dark ruby-red lip.
Greta Gerwig worea a bright custom Rodarte gown while a unique diamond and sapphire necklace. Staying also modern and chic.
Jennifer Lawrence in a glam Christian Dior sequin gown. I wasn't quite sure about this look at first but she looked good.
Who else is blowen away by Jane Fonda and Helen Mirren? I mean... come on! They look spectacular! Jane in a custom Balmain gown with Ferragamo shoes and Chopard jewels.
Helen Mirren in a simple custom Reem Acra gown with Harry Winston jewels.
Paz Vega wore a striking Christopher Bu gown with Chopard jewelry. Quite unique and I ike it!
Leslie Bibb attended the show with partner and nominee Sam Rockwell. She wore a black J.Mendel gown with classic diamond drop earrings. Simple and beautiful.
Lupita Nyong'o wore an Atelier Versace dress, Alexandre Birman shoes, and Niwaka jewelry while carrying a Versace clutch.
Sandra Bullock looked great in a custom Louis Vuitton gown which dazzled from every angle.
Zoey Deutch channeled the glamour in a romantic Elie Saab gown.
Who were your favorites?

Oscar 2018 winners, show highlights and recap
We have winners of The 90th Academy Awards. Click HERE.
If you didn't watch it, honestly you didn't miss much. It was ok but nothing more.
WINNERS
Not to brag but I predict most of the winners. The Shape of water winning for best movie was not a suprprise (it would be my second pick). I don't think it was the best film in 2018 but I'm happy for Guillermo del Toro. Even happier for Dunkirk, Gary Oldman (finally!) and Allison Janney.
THE HOST
Jimmy Kimmel is a great host and I like him very much. I think he did a great job once again but overall last year was way more fun (not because of the mix up at the end btw).
Here is the opening monologue.
THE SHOW: the good
I was most impressed by the stage and all the decore. Spectacular. Beautiful. Just amazing to look at. Every. Single. Time.
BB8 and Star Wars team are always lovely to see.
I get it. It can be even annoying how awsome Meryl Streep is. But she is.
THE SHOW: the bad
The show was a bit boring to be honest. I didn't like the ski jet thing and the visit to movie theater was a bit awkward. Waving hands are fun though.
Give oscars winners some podium/counter to lay down the oscar. I mean. You give out the most prestigious film award and then winners just put it on the floor. Fail.

No surprises. I think all presenters were already known before so there was nothing really 'waw' about it. As a movie fan of course I feel the need to watch it nevertheless.
TOP 3 SPEECHES
Allison Janney made me laugh: “I did it all by myself.”

Oscars 2018 favorites and predictions
Hello hello! Just in time for Oscars predictions and my favorites. All 90th Academy Awards nominees here. The ceremony will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, this Sunday, March 4th. Comedian Jimmy Kimmel will host for a second consecutive year. Last year he did a great job and I'm sure he will do it again!
Past year was a bit sad when it comes to quality of the movies but it is what it is. Most of them deserve to be here and they are worth watching for sure. I also support #MeToo and Time's Up movements. It's about time to speak up!
Before I trust you with my picks I will mention some SNUBS.
- Wonder Woman should be nominated for best movie
- Jessica Chastain for best actress in Molly's game
- The Post for original screenplay
- Jane for documentary
- In the Fade for best foreign language film
Here are my favorites and The Academy predictions for the main categories.
Best Picture:
Call Me by Your Name
Darkest Hour
Dunkirk
Get Out
Lady Bird
Phantom Thread
The Post
The Shape of Water
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
I liked all the movies this year but in most I am missing that 'waw' factor. For me Dunkirk was the best (I've seen it twice), meanwhile I think The Academy will pick Billboards.
Lead Actor:
Timothée Chalamet, Call Me by Your Name
Daniel Day-Lewis, Phantom Thread
Daniel Kaluuya, Get Out
Gary Oldman, Darkest HourDenzel Washington, “Roman J. Israel, Esq.
Gary for the win (my fav and prediction)! Not only he looked totally different, he was Winston Churchill. Despite visual transformation I usually figure out who's voice it is but this time I wouldn't guess. And can we just say Timothée was extraordinary and my second chice. Did you also notice that Daniel and Denzel are Academy's favorites for years now.
Lead Actress:
Sally Hawkins, The Shape of Water
Frances McDormand, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Margot Robbie, I, Tonya
Saoirse Ronan, Lady Bird
Meryl Streep, The Post
I'm sure I mentioned I'm Saoirse's fan so I would love her to win. I think she deserves it too! But I think Academy will vote Frances.
Willem Dafoe, The Florida Project
Woody Harrelson, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Richard Jenkins, The Shape of Water
Christopher Plummer, All the Money in the World
Sam Rockwell, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
I love Richard in almost everything but the Oscar will probably go to Sam. Haven't seen Willem and Christopher yet.
Supporting Actress:
Mary J. Blige, Mudbound
Allison Janney, I, Tonya
Lesley Manville, Phantom Thread
Laurie Metcalf, Lady Bird
Octavia Spencer, The Shape of Water
Allison Janney. Allison Janney. Allison Janney. She blows me away! I think Academy agrees on this one.
Director:
Dunkirk, Christopher Nolan
Get Out, Jordan Peele
Lady Bird, Greta Gerwig
Phantom Thread, Paul Thomas Anderson
The Shape of Water, Guillermo del Toro
Nolan is one of my favorite directors so my vote goes to him, but Academy will pick Guillermo I think.
Animated Feature:
The Boss Baby, Tom McGrath, Ramsey Ann Naito
The Breadwinner, Nora Twomey, Anthony Leo
Coco, Lee Unkrich, Darla K. Anderson
Ferdinand, Carlos Saldanha
Loving Vincent, Dorota Kobiela, Hugh Welchman, Sean Bobbitt, Ivan Mactaggart, Hugh Welchman
Coco was outstanding and I think Academy also agrees on this one.
Adapted Screenplay:
Call Me by Your Name, James Ivory
The Disaster Artist, Scott Neustadter & Michael H. Weber
Logan, Scott Frank & James Mangold and Michael Green
Molly’s Game, Aaron Sorkin
Mudbound, Virgil Williams and Dee Rees
Didn't seen The Disaster Artist and Mudbound yet but other three were amazing. My pick would be Molly's game or CMBYN. I think Academy will vote CMBYN.
The Big Sick, Emily V. Gordon & Kumail Nanjiani
Get Out, Jordan Peele
Lady Bird, Greta Gerwig
The Shape of Water, Guillermo del Toro, Vanessa Taylor
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Martin McDonagh
Thought category! Personally would go for Lady Bird or The Big sick but Billboards will win I guess.
Film Editing:
Baby Driver, Jonathan Amos, Paul Machliss
Dunkirk, Lee Smith
I, Tonya, Tatiana S. Riegel
The Shape of Water, Sidney Wolinsky
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Jon Gregory
Dunkirk!
Original Score:
Phantom Thread, Jonny Greenwood
The Shape of Water, Alexandre Desplat
Star Wars: The Last Jedi, John Williams
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Carter Burwell
Love Hans's work so my vote would be for Dunkirk. I also liked score from Phantom Thread and The Shape of Water. However I think Oscar will go for The Shape of Water.
Original Song:
Mighty River from Mudbound, Mary J. Blige
Mystery of Love from Call Me by Your Name, Sufjan Stevens
Remember Me from Coco, Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Robert Lopez
Stand Up for Something from Marshall, Diane Warren, Common
This Is Me from The Greatest Showman, Benj Pasek, Justin Paul
This is Me for me, but I guess front runner is Remember Me (also fine by that).
I hope for surprise or two when it comes to winners! :) What are your favorites and predictions? Let's hope for a great show! Enjoy!
