PLOT

Loosely based on the book series, the sequel to the 2010 movie takes place five years after the first film. Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) and his friends are now young adults and the Viking village of Berk is a lovely place to live in. While investigating a wildfire, Hiccup and Astrid (America Ferrera) discover the remains of a fort encased in a colossal blue ice formation and encounter a dragon trapper named Eret (Kit Harington), who blames them for the destruction of his fort and attempts to capture their dragons for an insane conqueror called Drago Bludvist (Djimon Hounsou). Hiccup decides to search for Drago to try and reason with him but Hiccup might discover something more than he expects.

REVIEW

I am a huge fan of the first film so there is no need to explain I was very excited about this one. It offers a new level of imagination and innovation. Definitely more mature, a bit darker with more drama, but still charming, exciting, with plenty of witty fun and emotionally resonant. There are more dragons and more characters, visuals are breathtaking and the film doesn't play it safe and just rehashes the story we've already seen in the first movie (like many sequels do). Intelligent, well written storytelling, continuation of adorable relationships, amazing voice cast, great music and the fact the film encourages you to think for yourself are a few more reason why I love this film. People who expect to see the same story can be disappointed but if you're open and ready for the next step in life of Hiccup and Toothless, you'll have a good time! 2014 must see for sure! 5-/5

Last week's favorite looks (August 25 - 31)

Emmy Awards were in a spotlight last week. If you missed three parts of red carpet: click, click, click. I guess I was busy with Emmys so much that I didn't spot a lot of my last week's favorite looks (August 25 - 31). But here they are. Two street styles and two event looks.

Victoria Beckham steps into LAX Airport to catch a flight out of town in Los Angeles. She rocked a Grateful Dead t-shirt with jeans, heels and sunglasses.

Gisele Bundchen makes her way through JFK Airport in New York City. Simple casual look once again but I like it.

Shanina Shaik at the 2014 US Open in the Moët & Chandon suite at Arthur Ashe stadium in New York City. Aussie model wore white jeans with white top and black sandals.

Sandra Bullock leaving Craig’s restaurant in West Hollywood. She wore all black ensemble with red lips. Like!

A flop!

PLOT

Tammy (Melissa McCarthy) is having a really bad day. She runs over a deer on the way to her job, gets fired and finds out her husband Greg (Nat Faxon) is cheating on her with their neighbor Missi (Toni Collette). Naturally, she storms out screaming and marches two doors down to her mom's (Allison Janney) house. Tammy wants to leave this place by all means but the problem is she doesn't have a car. Her foul-mouthed, alcoholic grandmother Pearl (Susan Sarandon) agrees to let Tammy drive her Cadillac as long as she can accompany her. After much arguing they hit the road.

REVIEW

Look, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't! Melissa and Susan are decent in this road trip flick and it has a few laughs but overall is just above the average film with nothing really funny to enjoy (which should be its purpose right?). The script and the story are the main issue, the movie is largely plotless with irritating characters and the comedy effect just doesn't get across. 2/5

Must see smart fun for all ages!

PLOT

Based on the Lego line of construction toys, the film tells the story of Emmet (Chris Pratt), an ordinary Lego minifigure prophesied to save the universe from the tyrannical Lord Business (Will Ferrell).

REVIEW

I love animated films but this one is something quite different. It may take some time to get used to its visuals but don't worry, you do! Great attention to detail, dynamic, refreshing, smart humor, encouraging, entertaining and heartwarming message are the main reasons why I liked this movie so much! Still I have my doubts. It's a feature-length toy commercial to be honest. But a good one. There are some unnecessary cliches and is at times a bit messy. However, definitely 2014 must see! 4/5

Clueless

It's been a while since my last clueless post.

I can't believe it's September already! Blah! Not happy! August passed so quickly :'( Many good things happened in past month and I had a really good time with people I love.

And I don't want Summer to end! It's super weird Summer here in Slovenia when it comes to weather but the days are long and there is always something going on in the city. I'm usually quite excited about Autumn and 'new beginnings' but this year all I can think about it's: 'Nooooooo! No! No! No! NO!' Ljubljana is full of pupils, teens, people back to work,... crowds and traffic jams back again. Ehhh (grumpy)!

We were also at friendly basketball match Slovenia vs Lithuania. And we won! Yey! And since Saturday sport fans can enjoy 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain. So far we won two games.

Two thousand years ago, the Roman city of Emona stood on the site of the present-day Ljubljana. In celebration of the anniversary, Ljubljana prepared a vibrant programme of events and experiences aimed at evoking the atmosphere of Roman times. The main highlight was event Ave Emona.
