He is best known for presenting TV programmes about competitive cookery and food, such as the series Hell's Kitchen, The F Word, Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares and MasterChef. His restaurants have been awarded 15 Michelin stars in total and currently holds 12.
Interesting quick facts:
- is the second of four children and had a thought childhood (you can read more in his autobiography Humble Pie);
- at the age of 16 moved out of the family house into a flat in Banbury;
- before his cooking career, he played football and was first chosen under
- 14 football at age 12 to play for Warwickshire but unfortunately his football career was marked by injuries;
- married Cayetana Elizabeth Hutcheson (known as Tana) in 1996 and they have four children
