PLOT
The film focuses on India Stoker (Mia Wasikowska), an introspective girl. Her life turns upside down on 18th birthday, after her loving father Richard (Dermot Mulroney) passes away in a mysterious car accident. She is now left with her unstable estranged mother Evelyn (Nicole Kidman) but Richard's charming brother Charlie (Matthew Goode) announces that he is staying indefinitely to help support them. It's hard to say much more than that.

REVIEW
Artistic, dark tamer psychological thriller with a mysterious characters and provocative attitude. The story unfolds very slowly, it's simple but keeps you interested. Story is odd but not the most orignal (there is not a lot of surprises), yet it's captivating and stylish throughout whole movie (amazing cinematography). There is a lot of symbolism and little details, nicely shot, creepy, tense, sick, moody, bizarre, twisted and disturbing yet the atmosphere is great and performances are spellbinding. I'm sure the movies is not for everyone because it's certainly something different but if you like something out of the ordinary or extraordinary camera-work, I highly recommend it. 4/5
