PLOT
Have you ever felt misunderstood? Of course you did. So does almost 30 years old Leigh (Kristen Bell). She feels unhappy, confused and lost when she realizes she doesn't want to keep on living a life that does not fulfill her. She quits her job in the city and moves back to live with her parents where she also gets back her old job as a lifeguard. She wants to escape, have a fresh start and feel live again. Here are also Leigh's friends Todd (Martin Starr) and Mel (Mamie Gummer). Todd is still in the closet, meanwhile married Mel is stressed because she wants to get pregnant. To relive their youth, Leigh, Todd and Mel hang out with a group of 16-year-old boys: Little Jason (David Lambert) and his friends. The interactions between the two age groups is interesting as each learns and grows from the other. But how long can this last?
REVIEW
Characters are real and relatable, we all make mistakes and don't always have/get a clear understanding of the questions. Plus sometimes we all have really hard time with responsibilities of growing up. Young adults reminding us all that growing up never gets any easier. Acting is good, matters are worldly. I like how movie ends with no big turnover but character do self-develop. I also like that film doesn't judge the relationship between Leigh and Little Jason. Yes, it's inappropriate but judgment is left to us, the viewers. Disadvantages: lacking in originality and overall plot. I still think film is still touching and worth watching but there is a place for improvement. 3/5
