A new edgier angle on a well-known fairy tail!

The film is a live-action re-imagining of Walt Disney's 1959 animated film Sleeping Beauty and portrays the story from the perspective of the antagonist, Maleficent (Angelina Jolie).

Not perfect but loved it! The original Sleeping Beauty was one of my favorite fairy tales while growing up so I was a bit sceptical about the movie. I'm happy to say this is a great adaptation! Dark fantasy with amazing visual effects, costumes, make up and Angelina's magnetic performance! Also sweet humor, a lot of emotions and feel, positive message and not to long. It was nice to see some changes and over all it's just entertaining to watch even though the film lacks that true enchantment and some characters are not explored enough. 4/5
