RIP: Charlotte Dawson (1966 - 2014)

Two weeks ago we've heard about devastating news. The Kiwi-born former model and on of Australia’s most popular television personalities Charlotte Dawson, has been found dead at the age of 47 after a long history of depression. I really liked her so I wanted to to dedicated this post to her.

A long-time judge on the popular modelling series Australia’s Next Top Model was found dead in her Woolloomooloo, New South Wales (Sydney) home. Police confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances to the death.

Charlotte was known for her bubbly personality, humor and very forthright and outspoken character. She was also an influential campaigner against bullying (click, click) and for greater health care and awareness.

Fellow New Zealander Russell Crowe, who lived in the same apartment block in Woolloomooloo and who had been friends with Dawson since they were teenagers, was in a restaurant and broke down in tears when told of her death. He later tweeted: “Charlie D ... Just don’t understand.” Many more friends and celebrities went on Twitter to express their sorrow (Megan Gale, Alex Perry, etc)

Like many, I was so shocked when I heard the news. I just couldn't believe it. She was young, beautiful, energetic... It’s such tragedy to lose another beautiful brave soul :'( Girl, you'll be missed. Rest in peace Charlotte!
