Summer of 2015, part III - Sainte-Marguerite island and Saint-Tropez

When we were in Cannes we also had one day trips. One day we spent on Sainte-Marguerite island and one forenoon in Saint-Tropez. Take a look.

Sainte-Marguerite island is the largest of the LĂ©rins Islands, about half a mile off shore from the French Riviera town of Cannes (15 minutes by boat from Cannes). The island is most famous for its fortress prison (the Fort Royal), in which the so-called Man in the Iron Mask was held in the 17th century. This place was so beautiful. Just perfect for day off, to relax and enjoy. Beautiful water, view, trees, ... It reminded me on Cres (Croatia) a bit. We find a nice private place and had a lovely time. But like any other year, my summer didn't end without some bites. This year I was acutally ok till August than mosquitos strike :) If only were only mosquitos... In Sainte-Marguerite island I was sting by jellyfish for the first time in my life. The water was so clear but I didn't see it. It was small and I was just swimming by. It brush up my arm and leg. It was burning feeling around 15 minutes and I had red tracks on the skin but luckily nothing big and it vanished quickly. But I had totally different experience with fly in Saint Tropez. More below but first some photos!

Sait Tropez was one of the less impressive places for me. It has all the fancy brand shops, lovely little streets and the water was magnificent...yet it just didn't move me or I was expecting too much? I don't know. Gendarmerie was under construction but it was still nice to see the city where the film The Troops of St. Tropez were shot. What else? Yes, the bug! When we got out of the water some fly landed on my foot and bite me. No biggie. But than it  started to itch. Like a lot. Aaaaaa! My leg swallow, it was red-black coloured and so soooo itchy! I was looking for this fly bug thing on web but I found nothing. Even when we got back home I still had lump. It was better but you could still see it. I will post my bites after this summer trip posts. Here are photos of Saint Tropez...
