PLOT
Seemingly normal teenager Clary Fray (Lily Collins) lives with her artistic single mother, Jocelyn (Lena Headey) in New York, when she starts seeing a strange symbol. As she gradualy becomes obsessed with it the symbol leads her and her best friend Simon (Richard Sheehan) to the nightclub where she sees people, no one else can. There she meets a Shadowhunter (a half-angel, half- human creature) called Jace (Jamie Campbell Bower) and gets thrown into a world of demons, vampires, witches, warlocks and werewolves. When her mother is kidnapped she realises that she might know more about this mystery world and also how to help her mom.

REVIEW
Oh my, what a disaster! Film borrows many of things from other fantasy franchises but the worst part is that the execution is just terrible! Underdeveloped storyline, bad predictable script, bland characters, unfortunate teen love triangle (lack of chemistry), battle scenes are all over the place (who is who and what's going on?!) and there is a lot of cheesy parts. Considering all these, the movie is just too long. The idea of the film is not bad, it actually had potential, but the delivery is horrible and there is a lot of room for improvement. Did I enjoy the film just a bit despite the already mentioned flaws? Nope, it dragged on and on and I was just happy that it was finally over. One of the worst movies this year. 1/5
