PLOT
Planet Krypton faces destruction as the Kryptonians have exhausted it's resourses to the point of making it unstable. Two scientists Jor-El (Russel Crove) and Lara (Avalet Zurer) manage to infuse their newborn son's  (Kal-El) cells with a genetic codex of their race and send him to the distant planet (Earth) in hope he will survive the planets destruction and ensure the continuation of the Kryptonian race. General Zod (Michael Shannon), an army general and a rebel, in his efforts to get to the codex, kills Jor-El. Zod and his followers are later captured and banned to the "phantom zone", but get free after Krypton explodes. Zod sets on a search for Kal-El and the codex finding his way to Earth and plans to turn it into new Krypton.

Meanwhile, Kal-El grows up as Clark Kent (Henry Cavill), travelling all over the world trying to find the meaning to his existance, and using his super powers to help those in need. These "surper rescues" also get the attention of reporter Lois Lane (Amy Adams) who makes it her own agenda to discover the identity of this superman who is going around helping people. But the General isn't far away and his plans to turn Earth into Krypton are already in motion. Will Superman be able to get the humans to his side and protect the planet from Zod?

REVIEW
Reboot of the Superman film series that portrays the character's origin story is leaning towards a blockbuster movie. Cast did a solid job (especially Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as foster parents and Michael Shannon were great), effects were cool but I had two main problems watching it. Movie honestly lacks characters development and its rhythm is very unstable. Sometimes sequence are a bit off and some fight scenes are way too long. Plus love story is weak and screenplay could be better. Parts where Clark is human are more satisfying than when he turns to Superman, Zod is not a rebel without a cause, there is a sense of reality but I don't believe the film offers anything new. I like superhero movies, I really wanted to love this film but sadly it just didn't happened. 3/5
