Unpredictable entertainment!

PLOT
An art auctioneer Simon (James McAvoy) becomes involved in the theft of a painting from his own auction house. Simon double crosses his partner Franck (Vincent Cassell) and suffers a strike to the head, leaving him with amnesia. So in order to find out where he hide the painting he must take hypnosis sessions with Elizabeth (Rosario Dawson) to revive his memory. But situation gets complex and twisted. You need to see it for yourself why.

REVIEW
Trance is one of those movies where it's very easy to give too much away therefore reviewing it's a bit tricky. Film pulls you in, you're interested in the story, learn new things from flashbacks and the present time but simultaneously you are more and more suspicious and confused. The look of the movie is hypnotic and done very well, including cinematography, neo-noir style, editing, soundtrack and the pace. Main three characters are dark and unpredictable. James, Vincent and Rosario did a wonderful job portraying them. Still, you don't connect with them but if you would the whole experience would be even better. The movie is not perfect (I would love to see some more work with the script) but visually exciting, definitely highly entertaining and engaging psychological thriller. 4/5

P.S. James is celebrating his 35th Birthday today! Congrats! And can't wait for X-Men: Days of Future Past!
