Met Ball Red Carpet 2013, part I

On Monday we saw the fashion industry's night of nights, The Costume Institute Gala (or Costume Institute Ball), known as the Met Ball or Met Gala. For those who don't know, this is an annual ball that celebrates the annual opening of the Metropolitan Museum's (The Met) fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute. Each year there is selected theme, an this year was Punk Fashion (Chaos to Couture exhibition).

In first part I'll focous on models and designers.

Staring with my favorite model Miranda Kerr! Miranda worn a stunning Michael Kors cut-out black gown. She add her style with spiked Christian Louboutin clutch and deep berry lips. Love it!

Anja Rubik in a red leather Anthony Vaccarello mini dress. She's rockin it! British model Cara Delevingne looked top wearing studded Burberry dress. And one of the biggest disappointments - Karlie Kloss in granny looking Louis Vuitton that ages her for 30 years!

Jessica Hart in a custom-made ALIA gown from Paris along with Chopard jewelry. On the right, Gisele Bundchen rock in, while wearing Anthony Vaccarello black mini dress with revealing grommet detailing. Hot!

Lily Aldridge and her hubby Caleb Followill. They both pick looks by Tommy Hilfiger. I expect so much more from this rock couple!
Hilary Rhoda worn lace top and leather pants by Wes Gordon and Giuseppe Zanotti sandals.
Constance Jablonski also wore Wes Gordon, but in more dramatic way with leather harness detailing.

Actual and former Victoria's Secret Angels. Doutzen Kroes in a Theyskens’ Theory black gown and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in a sheer black and gold Gucci. On the right, Puerto Rican model Joan Smalls with designer Tom Ford.

Another group of former Angels. Chanel Iman in a striped J Mendel strapless dress. Karolina Kurkova in Wes Gordon, a Kotur clutch and a Jennifer Fisher ring. Heidi Klum in structural white and silver Marchesa gown.

Carolyn Murphy in Nina Ricci. I hate this lenght, ssee through parts, cut and feathers. One of the worst for me. I'm not a fan of Coco Rocha pick either. She's wearing a leopard print gown with butterfly embellishments by Fausto Puglisi. Brooklyn Decker in the middle, wearing a custom Peter Pilotto dress. I would love to see dress without ruffles. Back to black. Alexa Chung in Erdem and Chloe Sevigny in Proenza Schouler dress.

Kate Upton in green unfitted looking DVF gown. Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann in Prabal Gurung dual-colour gown and Ralph Lauren's daughter Dylan in white dress with golden details. Dree Hemingway was wearing a head-to-toe rock look from the Stella McCartney and punk rock designer Zandra Rhodes on the right.

The host and Vogue editor, Anna Wintour in spring Chanel Couture gown, while her daughter Bee Shaffer worn lovely white gown from Christian Dior. Two fashion designers on the right side in black: Diane von Furstenberg and Donatella Versace.

Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen expectedly in vintage and oversized dresses. Ashley choose orange Dior Couture dress and Mary-Kate in black Chanel with the fur-trimmed robe. Alexander Wang was in company of Julianne Moore who worn Balenciaga by Alexander Wang dress, shoes, clutch and Irene Neuwirth jewels.

Karen Elson in golden gown, while fashion blogger Hanneli Mustaparta wore yellow gold metallic dress. Fashion editor Giovanna Battaglia in Dolce & Gabbana and headpiece, similarly accessories we also saw on designer Tabitha Simmons. Editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld choose see through lace Givenchy dress with fairy tail detail.

Linda Evangelista looked horrific in Marchesa grey gown. I also expect more from designer Vivian Westwood who was in company of model Lily Cole.

I'll end first post with designers Donna Karen and Stella McCartney. Director and Actress Sofia Coppola with spotty Marc Jacob in the middle, plus Tommy and Dee Hilfiger in classic red and black punk rock style.
