Movie review - The Numbers Station (2013)

The Numbers Station (2013) / action, thriller

Directed by Kasper Barfoed
Screenplay by F. Scott Frazier
Starring: John Cusack, Malin Akerman, Liam Cunningham, Hannah Murray, Lucy Griffiths, Bryan Dick
Trailer: click.

Emerson Kent (John Cusack) is working for the CIA and he's now transferred on countryside to watch over a numbers station after his failed mission. At station he works with Katherine (Malin Akerman) and one day the station is being under attack but of course, they're with no way out. Will they make it and find out what is really going on?

Solid action thriller. Simple but interesting plot, dynamic at all times. Screenwriting wise I especially liked that there is not typical romance envolved (very few Hollywood stereotypes in the movie overall). I also fancy the display of intelligence operations and the mental state of their operatives. Cast is small and does a good job, while film keeps you engaged and entertained. 3+/5
