Riveting drama!

PLOT
Arkansas. Two 14-year-old boys Ellis (Tye Sheridan) and Neckbone (Jacob Lofland) have found a boat stuck high in a tree on a small island in the Arkansas River. They want to claim it for themselves but discover someone is living in it. They meet a strange man Mud (Matthew McConaughey) who claims to have grown up nearby. He tells the boys he needs food and promises to give them the boat if they help him while he stays on the island. But is he really who he say he is?

REVIEW
After mysterious adventurous start, step by step the story unfolds and we learn more about the characters and their agendas. It' a story about love and friendship while we absorb nature and wildness. Film seems real with the elements of thriller and romance. The problem is the movie is slightly too long and the story has a few unnecessary subplots. Other then that it's good serious drama with great performances (especially Tye, Jacob and Matthew), heart and soul. Worth watching! 4/5
