Victor (Colin Farrel) is a mobster who is very good at what he does, and is also very valued for it by the boss Alphonse (Terrence Howard). We catch up with him right in the time where one of his gang members is killed by a rival mob gang, apparently out to get them. To make the things worst Victor gets caught on camera killing a guy by his neighbour Beatrice (Noomi Rapace). Instead of going to the police she blackmails Victor in taking vengeance on a person who got into a drunk driving accident with her, leaving her heavily mutilated. The mob not allowing for any slip-ups, Victor is now in a difficult position holding secrets from his gang and at the same time trying to deal with Beatrice. Is there more to Victor than being a killer or will Beatrice also suffer the grim fate?

Intelligent revenge thriller with a love story. Film seems real, cast did a wonderful job, characters and story developed, things get more and more complicated and exciting. I like the sense of reality, details, emotions, plus some action and humor. It's not a high paced thriller but more placid with some good question about revenge and aftermath raised. Viewing the film is a rewarding experience but I think with some improvement it could shine even more (at times can be a bit dull), despite the twist. Nevertheless, definitely worth watchig. 3+/5
